![]() Liza Meyers is in her 15th year of teaching music, currently as K-2 Music Teacher at Manhattan Charter School. Liza is a recent transplant to New York where her husband recently began a new position as a music education professor at Adelphi University. Previous to her move to NY, Liza was a long-time Arizona resident and music teacher, and she is currently completing her doctorate in music education from Arizona State University. She has been adjunct instructor in the Kodaly certification course at ASU since 2005, teaching level II pedagogy, folk song research, and solfa/musicianship for both level II and III, and at Morehead State in KY since 2008 teaching as level I, II, and III solfa/ear-training instructor. Liza also has her Orff certification through master class level with extensive experience in movement. She studied at the Kodály Institute in Kecskemet, Hungary in 2003, received a Japan Fulbright Scholarship in 2006, and received the Teacher of the Year Award in 2010 for her school at that time. A frequent presenter for school districts, universities, and conferences, Liza incorporates her studies in Kodály and Orff, multicultural music, movement and folk dance, children's literature, and her own creative visuals and manipulatives into her presentations. Liza is currently the National Program Chair for the 2012 Organization of American Kodaly Educators Conference to be held in Phoenix in March.

Welcome to meyersmusic.net! The purpose of this website is to share activity ideas, visuals, and manipulatives with my fellow music teachers and workshop attendees. It will be used as a place that I can leave PDFs of workshop hand-outs and visuals so that teachers can download them for use in their classrooms. The site will get too bogged down with stuff if I leave things on here indefinitely, so materials from my workshops will only remain for a short time before being removed from the site. However, visuals that are linked to lesson ideas from my blog (link on the bottom left of this page) will remain on the site. Thank you to all of the teachers who have followed my blog on Blogspot, or followed it on NetworkedBlogs on Facebook, or on Twitter...and to those of you who have pinned my blog or website on the new and addicting Pinterest. It's always nice to know that teachers find at least some of what I post useful. :-) You have permission to download and reproduce all of the visuals on this website for use in your own classroom with your own students. Please, no copying of the visuals or activities for use in other websites (create a link to my website and let me know if you choose to do so). For all other use, permission must be obtained. Thank you for your consideration. |
